Review: Let me start out by saying how much I loved Loosie's Kitchen ambiance. My main reason for visiting this spot was because I saw how beautiful it was online. It was breathtaking in person!
I wanted to take a million pics as soon as we arrived, but as per usual we were late and had to focus on eating before the restaurant stop serving brunch. In my past brunch life, I used to brunch all day.... I would eat with at least two sets of friends on any given Sunday, in the midst of the brunch rush furry. In my new brunch life, I arrive right before brunch ends. To be honest, I like this way better, the restaurant is usually quiet and empty and allows me to get service that is attentive, and pictures that look like the restaurant opened just for me to do my brunch review.
I promise I eat more than chicken and waffles for brunch! But there are so many things that I don't eat; it always seems like the safe choice. The presentation of the chicken and waffle dish was terrific! Upon tasting, the waffle was just okay. I needed the full use of my steak knife to cut my waffle which is never a good sign. Where the waffle lacked in taste, the fresh fruit and confectioners sugar gave it an extra oomph.
The chicken was chicken you would expect for brunch, fried warm but not well seasoned. I have realized that seasoned chicken is not something that I should expect from mainstreamed restaurants, but a girl can still hope! * break out the hot sauce*
Kela got her usual; croque-madame served with hand-cut fries & green market salad she didn't make exclamations, so I assume it was fine.
The staff at Loosie's Kitchen was pleasant and willing to answer all my questions, like what was the significance of the little girl with the middle finger on the coasters? FYI... there's none!
Honestly, we spent more time ki-king and taking pics than we did eating brunch. All in all, it was good times in Loosie's kitchen. It's a good spot for brunch so grab your girls and head on over! Be sure to have your camera phones ready for a mini-photoshoot.
